“Huma Quşu” Fund Holds Presentation Event at Baku European Lyceum

A presentation event titled “We Are at Humay’s Beloved Lyceum” was held at Baku European Lyceum by the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund, established in memory of Humay Guliyeva, a cherished graduate of the school, to honour her legacy and keep her memory alive.

In her opening remarks, Zulfiyya Veysova, Director of Baku European Lyceum, emphasised that the primary goal of modern education is not only to provide students with academic knowledge, but also to instil in them such fundamental human values as courage, kindness and humanity.

As part of the event, the documentary “ Your Place Will Always Be Seen, Humay” was screened. The film portrays Humay Guliyeva’s meaningful life, her love of education and her acts of kindness.

Vafa Mammadova, who was Director of Baku European Lyceum during Humay’s years at the school, as well as her teachers Rahila Aliyarzada and Kamala Alasgarova, addressed the gathering and shared treasured memories of Humay. Their remarks highlighted her intelligence, analytical thinking and special love for people and reading, which she had demonstrated from an early age. Her teachers and schoolmates also recalled her compassionate nature and eagerness to help anyone in need, as well as her ability to express mature, thoughtful opinions on important socio-political issues well beyond her years.

Participants were given detailed information about the activities of the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund, its projects to date, scholarship competitions and mechanisms for supporting young people’s education. The Fund’s future goals were also outlined.
