The Road from Dream to Reality: “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund’s Activities in 2025

We have left another year behind us. The year 2025 will be remembered as a year of growth, expansion, and deep impact for the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund. This year, the Fund’s activity was measured not only by numbers but by changed lives, realized dreams, and newly opened opportunities.

At the beginning of the year, within the framework of cooperation with Azercell, the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund announced the “Girls` Advancement in STEM” scholarship competition for girls studying at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels in STEM fields in Azerbaijan and abroad. The project aimed to illuminate the path of talented young women in science and technology. Five winners of the competition each received a scholarship of 2,500 AZN.

In early February, the winners of Humay’s “From Dream to Reality” scholarship competition were determined. According to the final results, three main winners and one additional winner with equal scores were selected and awarded scholarships of 2,500 AZN each.

On February 28, the Fund, together with ADA University, announced the “Humay`s Island of Knowledge” scholarship program for students wishing to pursue master’s degrees. Within this program, three individuals were supported with scholarships of 5,000 AZN each.

On April 4, the winners of the “Girls` Advancement in STEM” competition were announced. Considering the high results and knowledge level of the candidates, the Fund’s Supervisory Board increased the number of winners from five to ten. Azercell’s allocated fund of 12,500 AZN was matched by the Fund, bringing the total grant fund to 25,000 AZN, with each winner receiving 2,500 AZN scholarships.

On April 8, in addition to the 10 winners of the competition, 10 more participants were granted free participation in IT courses through cooperation with “Div Academy”.

From April 13 onwards, the Fund launched training sessions on career development, financial literacy, and positivity strategies. These trainings were conducted by Khumar Huseynova, head of Education and Development at AccessBank and a lecturer at Khazar University.

On May 1, the next call for Humay’s “From Dream to Reality” scholarship competition was announced. Four individuals won scholarships of 2,500 AZN each.

On May 3, the Fund launched its mentoring program. Mentors were sought for 10 young women scholarship holders in STEM to facilitate knowledge transfer and long-term development models.

On May 24, Saida Abdullayeva, a member of the Fund’s Board of Directors, successfully represented “Huma Quşu” at the “SHE Congress 2025”.

On May 26, the winners of the “Humay`s Island of Knowledge” scholarship program, implemented jointly with ADA University, were announced—two individuals were awarded scholarships of 5,000 AZN each.

On July 27, the in-person Summer Meeting with Fund members and students was held, remembered for its warm atmosphere, mentoring discussions, and memories of Humay.

On August 4, the next winners of Humay’s “From Dream to Reality” competition were announced. Of 61 applications, 42 passed the technical stage, 15 were invited for interviews, and 5 winners each received a 2,500 AZN scholarship.

On August 19, the Fund’s Supervisory Board held a meeting to discuss projects to be implemented by the end of the year.

During the autumn months, the Fund’s activities were widely covered in the media: special features about the Fund appeared in NARGIS magazine, 525th newspaper, Azertac Information Agency, and the “Belə-belə işlər” platform.

On October 17, a charity concert dedicated to Humay Quliyeva’s memory was held in London, featuring two talented musicians originally from Azerbaijan—Sabina Rakcheyeva and Gunel Mirzayeva—marking a significant milestone in the Fund’s international recognition.

At the end of October, the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund held a presentation ceremony at Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), attended by AMU faculty, students, and media representatives.

On November 12, the “Huma Quşu” family held its in-person autumn meeting, remembered for heartfelt conversations, idea exchange, and motivating discussions.

On November 16, one of the year’s most memorable events—the charity evening “Our Voice Is Yours, Humay”—was held. The funds raised during the event were directed to the Fund’s education programs, and the event garnered significant public attention.

On November 27, a Sakura tree was planted in the courtyard of the Baku European Lyceum in memory of Humay Quliyeva. This ceremony symbolized the spiritual continuation of cooperation between the Fund and the Lyceum.

Towards the end of the year, on November 29, another Supervisory Board meeting took place, and on December 3, the Fund’s presentations at various universities within AccessBank’s financial literacy projects were held.

Throughout the year, over 80,000 AZN was raised from charity events and donations for the Fund. Overall, during its three years of activity, the Fund has allocated 209,000 AZN to various scholarship programs and supported the education of 45 students.

Throughout 2025, the “Huma Quşu” Educational Support Fund reviewed hundreds of applications, touched the lives of dozens of young people, and continued to honor Humay Quliyeva’s memory with the values of education, courage, and humanity.
